I found some of the hardware didn't exactly go in like it was supposed to. However, it wasn't difficult to work the screws making it fit. My husband did need to find a replacement for one of the screws the one included just was too large for the hole. I did the main assembling and I'm a grandma. They installed quick and easy. We are not tech people so I don't know about Alexa. My favorite unknown feature is the automatic light on when you switch on the unit. I usually have only the fan running when I switch it off before bed. My husband rises at 4am to switch on the unit. The light comes on directly. This is different than our bedroom unit. We never seem to have a light in that room as the only thing that powers on is what was set when the unit was turned off. We installed them in our great room. We purchased two units for the same room and love them.First, fan was packaged very well. Instructions were pretty good, and it was not hard to assemble. Since I was replacing a fan, installation was not difficult at all. I was able to easily remove the old one and install the new one. I had already signed up on the Carro app and linked it to Alexa before I installed the fan. I powered the fan up and followed directions to link to the remote, worked first time. I opened the app and followed directions to discover with wifi, worked first time. Alexa saw it and linked to it automatically. The motor is very very quiet. The fan itself is balanced, , and will blow things around when set at 10, it really moves some air. The only little thing I kinda don't like is it has a separate function for white and yellow light, not a big deal though. The light plate is bright enough and can be set anywhere between 0 and 100 percent with any combo of white and yellow. I'm kinda looking forward to my other ceiling fans to go out so I can replace them also!!!Looks great and no more difficult than a big box fan to install. Great air flow. Nice lighting where you can combine a yellow and a white led array in any mixture to get the desired level and color temperature.Issues:The remote is cheap and didn't work consistently. Uses 2 AAA batteries which were NOT provided. I called Carro and they were very nice and sent a replacement remote in 4 days! Same cheap remote but at least it worked. If you use Alexa or the Carro app, fortunately you will only need the remote for the setup.As for Alexa, I now have it working perfectly but that took a lot of trial and error. To pair with your router, the router must ONLY be in 2.4ghz mode which requires router configuration changes to temporarily shut off 5Ghz. What a pain. If you are not IT savvy, this might be a deal breaker for you. Once you finally get it paired in 2.4ghz mode, you can switch 5ghz back on in your router. Carro needs to update their fans to not require this.Once you get Alexa working the fan is a marvel. "Alexa, ceiling fan on 1" or 5 or 10 for max speed or OFF. " Alexa, yellow light 50%", etc.I wanted a smart fan. It was unable to connect to any wifi, or Bluetooth.Thus, I couldn't integrate with Alexa.(Yes, I made sure to connect to 2.4GHz wifi)Sending it backUpdate: I kept trying and it eventually connected to my wifi. Now I can control through the app, or Alexa.Keeping it now.Only 4 stars because setup was so buggyFans work great with Alexa, but cant figure out how to get her to control the lights. Remotes are somewhat off too... I have 3 fans & was hoping to control each individually. Cant figure that out either.It works great. The only negative I can say is that the remote should be slimmer and more modern looking. It is about the size of a cell phone if a cell phone was 1" thick. Other than that I love the fan. It is quiet, it doesn't wobble, we have it mounted about 20' in the air and still get good light from it. I really like being able to control it with my phone.Lots if cfm power and pretty quiet. Didnt give a lot of wire length. I wish it had more lumens on brightest setting. I also wish i could use traditional switches instead of only the remote (an option for both would be better). Remote is a little sensitive and difficult to select variation settings- but that is where the app comes in handy…. But annoying to have to pull out my phone to do everything.I couldn't find a fan I liked at any hardware store in town. A friend picked this out and sent me the link. I bought it and absolutely love it. My favorite is the nature mode on the fan!
