I am grateful for the recording this opera because I would not have had the chance to see or hear it otherwise. I adore Eleanor Steber's work and look forward to new recordings of her singing. To my mind, she is the greatest soprano of the twentieth century. I remember my mother with me sitting beside her as we listened to The Voice Of Firestone many years ago. I had to opportunity to hear her in person a few times. A friend of mine has all the original recordings of her work except for a 78 of Whispering Hope. Thanks for this privilege. ANB
