It could have been great if some better design went into it. First, if empty, opening the lid with the fan and pump attached means it rips out of the hinge sockets. So you need to find a right height trash can or something to support it. Second, the intake isn't weighted and floats on the surface. You'll need to put some fishing sinkers or something into a freezer zip lock and dunk your arm to get it down on the bottom. That said, it isn't at all quiet. The pump motor gives a pretty strong hum. The casing needs soundproofing presuming you don't create an overheating problem. Speaking of the case, it's tabs need to be larger and the miniscule screw posts beefier. And, the holes in the pump case tabs need to be larger so rubber grommets can be used to isolate the pump vibrations from the plate/cooler. It would be a lot quieter. I'm working out modifications so I can drop the noise level. The feed hose to the fan is way too long, but trim carefully to ensure full range of motion for the fan.Now the good part. It does perform. The 3 speed fan is interesting although you'll mostly run it on "high". I'm using it to cool down my shop and can put it on the back of the Gator with a Kohler enCube to run it at the park. It's 120 volt so make sure your power source is as portable as the cooler. So if this is the best anyone has to offer, I'm OK with it. It's more useful than the poor design quirks. Just have to crank up the Classic Rock a bit more to overcome the pump noise.
